I recently visited the Milton Latter Library with a friend, hoping to get some work done on my laptop, and it turned out to be a truly memorable experience. The historical house and grounds are genuinely impressive, and transforming such a beautiful building on St. Charles into a public library feels like the perfect solution to preserving its charm while serving the community. While the library itself isn't particularly large given the size of the building, there are comfortable tables for working, and the free WiFi was exactly what I needed. The hour I spent there felt unique and special—partly because the staff was dressed in costume for Halloween, which added a delightful touch to the atmosphere. What struck me most was the character of the place. More libraries need this level of charm and personality. It's not just a place to borrow books or use the internet; it's an experience. I'll definitely return when I'm in town again, even if just to soak in that special "feeling" the Milton Latter Library provides.

Beautiful public library. Such a unique location, feels very welcoming. There's plenty of sitting areas for reading! The power outlets can be hard to reach but there's some in each room. Great place for quiet study or to get some work done.

It is a beautiful library that has boasts some marvelous architecture and surroundings. There are some exquisite reading rooms in the library that emanate a vibe that I can only describe as New Orleanian. However, the library or the grounds is not large enough to focus an entire day for tourists. It is a wonderful stop on St. Charles street. You can catch a street car a few steps away from the library that can take you downtown.

Clean establishment. Cute building. Came for a library card! Helpful friendly staff. Love the children’s section but will be back for the seed options!
