About this class

At Gymboree on Riverside Blvd, you'll find a vibrant atmosphere perfect for little ones to dive into sensory play, music, and art, right in the heart of the bustling New York community!

Gymboree is one of those places that actually knows what they're doing with the little ones - they've got real curriculum backing up their play time, so it's not just expensive babysitting. Your kiddo will get to crawl around on different textures, slide down mini slides, and do all that sensory stuff that makes their brains happy, while you get to chat with other parents who also haven't showered in three days. The teachers are pretty hands-on with guiding activities but they're not militant about it, so if your crawler wants to explore that tunnel for the fifth time instead of doing circle time, nobody's going to stress about it. It's structured enough that you feel like you're actually helping with development, but chill enough that you won't feel like a failure when your kid has a meltdown halfway through. Because let's be real, we're all just winging it and hoping our kids turn out okay!

Families love how the coaches make every class feel like a mini adventure, turning shy kiddos into confident little explorers!

My 7 month old loves coming here! She smiles the whole time. It's playtime but also physical therapy since they have activities based on the baby's development. My daughter is working on crawling so Ms. Betsy (who's amazing!) catered some playtime to help her get used to the positions. Bradley is also incredibly helpful and has answered my multiple questions! Highly recommend Gymboree!

The BEST place in the city to bring your little one! Brand new, beautiful location, kept extremely clean. Every staff member has been exceptional - from Play and Learn, to Music, to now Preschool Steps. Like many covid babies, my son was more shy and anxious, but this Gymboree has helped him grow so much! The teachers really go above and beyond to show each child special attention. My son adores Bradley. He is especially amazing and caring with my son and even gives me so much personalized communication! Ms.Taryn, John, and the rest are wonderful as well. I'm just floored by the amount of effort and dedication this staff has to caring for the children and their enrichment. So lucky they opened up here!

This is definitely the best place for the kids! There are multiple classes for all age groups and the teachers are above and beyond! My son started coming here for the summer camp and continues to come twice a week for play and art classes. He absolutely loves Mr. Bradley and Ms. Megan. They take such great care of our kids. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We have had the very best time at Gymboree over the past 2 months. We started with one class a week and added a 2nd. My son is clearly learning and growing here and has made little friends. The teachers and staff could not be more wonderful! Such a special place.

My 14 months old loves this Gymboree. It's a not at all fancy, slightly beat up venue for kids classes and preschool (0-5) that somewhat pales in comparison with a nearby newer (and more expensive) NYkids club but it is perfect for newborns, crawlers, pre-walkers or shy kids - it is on a smaller scale and not as crowded. The staff is always super friendly and personable. Miss Sofia is just amazing. You've go to try her class: she has a great voice and that special grace gifted teachers have. She is incredibly warm and patient with kids. What's more important, she has a very authentic demeanor and clearly loves teaching her cookie monsters. My son loves the free (you have to attend classes to have this perk, but otherwise it is free) unstructured open gym playtime (30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes, depending on schedule). It's usually not as crowded, with 1-5 kids at the same time, even in inclement weather, whereas NYkids club would have up to 20 kids (and would require you to purchase a $20 pass to attend such playtime).
