We PLAY Center by TrainingGrounds offers free, drop-in play sessions in New Orleans for caregivers and children ages birth through 3, with a Wednesday afternoon session that also welcomes 4-year-olds. No reservation is required, and families can stay for about an hour. Sessions run Tuesday through Thursday at the Sojourner Truth Neighborhood Center and Wednesday and Friday at the East New Orleans Regional Library, which is temporarily closed until late spring 2026. Staff members called Coaches support caregivers and children as they use age-appropriate toys and activities focused on social-emotional development.

We love bringing our son here to play and socialize with other babies. It’s so nice to connect with the other parents too. Wonderful staff and facility.

The We Play Center is Amazing! I always tell people about it every chance I get. It’s so welcoming and your little ones will love it. All the workers are by far the best and they always keep you in the loop with anything that you should know about! I’m so glad someone recommended this place to me.

A friend requested that I meet her and her 15month baby girl at the We Play Center for a play date with my 15 month daughter. The Center was a perfect play date experience for my daughter as well as for me. She played with other children around her age in an inviting setting with plenty of toys to interact with her. She choose to explore with the other children which gave my friend and I time have conversation amongst ourselves and other caregivers. All free of charge. I will be visiting we play Center again.

We love this place. If you have kids of the right age, you should absolutely get involved. It's more than just a free play place. The wonderful tram can help you with parenting issues, offers classes, and is really supportive of your journey. My daughter took the We Play Gets Ready For School class and learned so much! We love it!
