This is my new favorite library in New York! It is super clean and lots of seating and natural light. In one of the lounging areas there are listening stations and you can grab a record off the shelf and they have headphones you can use to listen to it! They also have an outdoor seating area with a nice patio. They have an exhibit going on too which was very fascinating and I would highly recommend checking it out while it's still there! Support your local library!

My favorite NYPL to go to. Multi-level library with both indoor and outdoor seating, galleries, and beautiful architecture. In the heart of the UWS, this place is a must go. Looking for a place to get outside and do some work? This is the place to go. The outdoor seating is very peaceful and comfortable, enabling productivity in a beautiful place.

Definitely one of the prettiest libraries and well maintained. Usually lots of work space as well, and nice staff too! (also if you were there December 22 with a dumb phone reading an urban studies novel, hit my line)

the library itself is beautiful but people - the staff included - do not know how to respect the space! a library is meant to be silent, but the librarians themselves were having really loud and distracting conversations the entire time.

I hadn't been here in years, but the Hal Prince exhibit drew me in and now that I've gone back, I plan to try to stop by every trip to see what exhibit is there. It's a bummer the archives are only available to students and reporters, since it would be so amazing to check out some of the recordings of shows we'll never be able to see, but the special exhibits are very well done and we're in Lincoln Center almost every trip, so this will be one of our normal stops now.
