The Little Gym of Rio Rancho | Sandoval County, NM
About this class
The Little Gym is basically where you go when you want to feel like you're doing something good for your kiddo's development while also getting a bit of a workout yourself - win-win, right? They're really into the whole "serious fun" thing, which sounds cheesy but actually works out pretty well because your little one gets to tumble around on safe equipment while you're doing more than just sitting on the sidelines scrolling your phone. The classes have actual structure with songs, basic gymnastics moves, and all those sensory activities with balls and bubbles that make toddlers lose their minds with excitement, but it's not so rigid that you'll stress if your kid decides today is the day they only want to roll down the same mat seventeen times. Plus you'll probably end up chatting with other parents who also thought they'd have more energy for this parenting thing, and honestly, sometimes that adult conversation is worth the class fee alone!
Parents rave about how their kiddos can't stop talking about the fun games and new friends they make in class. Fair warning: you might find your little one asking for more playdates after every session!

The Little Gym team here is incredible! You can just feel the joy and energy the moment you walk in. The staff is so warm and welcoming, and they go above and beyond to make every child feel special. The classes are fun, engaging, and packed with movement, learning, and laughter. It's such a great place for kids to build confidence, burn energy, and make new friends. We’re so lucky to have a place like this in the community!

I have been taking my grandson (he's two) to The Little Gym for about three months. He looks forward to going each week and is learning to take turns and follow directions. The classes have good structure, they begin with a warm-up, that includes gross motor skills and incorporates letters, counting, shapes, etc. Next they get free time which my grandson loves! His teacher models what they can do in the different stations and encourages them to try but doesn't force them. I am very impressed with the The Little Gym and I highly recommend them for your little one.

I have serious concerns with this gym. The kids sit or stand in line for 90% of the class time. The groups are too large. I've seen 16 kids in one group before. The teachers are slow and allow unruly kids to take over the class. They don't force kids to take turns so my child gets skipped over often because she follows the rules. I've tried a couple of different class times and its all the same. I've voiced my concerns to the teachers but didnt see any change. Our plan is to finish out this month and pause membership. I'm hoping that enough people will complain that management will get it together. We do like the program at Kid Strong and plan to stay with them. If the little gym can get it together, I think we would come back because my daughter likes gymnastics/tumbling.

We’ve enjoyed coming to the little gym! Couple things we would like to see change would be: Alternate the age groups for the “open gym” time on Thursdays. Over 2 year olds can be rough and dangerous to the younger kiddos. For example a 3 year old jumped off a ramp onto my 15 month old. They need to be separated. We won’t be using this open gym time again because of safety concerns. This 3 year old left a mark on my son. Also during class time maybe they could work on a certain skill instead of most of the class the kids having free time. This way they can learn more.

My daughter loves it here. The instructors have been really patient with my active 4 year old. She burns a lot of energy, and sleeps really well on the days she has class!
