⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My family has had an amazing experience with **The Dance Movement**. My daughter has been attending since she was just three years old, and over the past eight years she has taken ballet, tap, hip-hop, and Pom squad. Every single class has been a positive experience. The instructors are supportive, skilled, and truly care about the dancers—not just as students, but as people. My daughter has grown so much in confidence and ability, and she’s also made lifelong friends along the way. My son also attended The Dance Movement for five years of hip-hop and absolutely loved it. The studio creates a welcoming, encouraging environment for dancers of all ages and styles. I am so grateful for the years of memories, friendships, and growth my children have had here. I can’t recommend The Dance Movement enough!

We were at this studio for a while, and unlike other reviews, some instructors were very harsh. For example, my daughter got compared to one of her friends, being told that X friend "didn't forget and mess up choreography like you." She came home crying when that happened. Another time, the kids were being made to move to a new formation in the dance. The instructors kept yelling that she was doing it wrong in front of the other kids instead of calmly explaining what she had to do. The instructors very much have favorites. These positive reviews are probably from the favorites families. My daughter loved dancing when she began, and her love severely diminished after being at this studio.

My daughter attended this studio for about a year. Her experience with her previous teacher was positive, and age-appropriate; and she did very well in her recital. Unfortunately, our experience changed with a different instructor. During one class, my four-year-old daughter became momentarily distracted by a teddy bear that had been handed out for recital practice. The instructor told her, “You are so slow,” and took the bear from her. My daughter became very upset and began crying. Afterward, she repeatedly said, “I am slow,” which showed how deeply the comment affected her. I also observed other young children in the class crying due to the instructor’s rigid and harsh tone. I spoke with the instructor after class, but the response lacked empathy or accountability. As a result, we decided to leave the studio. The remaining tuition for classes not attended was later refunded. I am sharing this so parents of young children can make informed decisions. Preschool dance should foster confidence and joy, not fear or self-doubt.

We were part of this studio for quite some time. Different from other reviewers, our instructor had a very strict approach, which may work well for some dancers, but wasn’t the right fit for our daughter, who was looking to enjoy ballet while learning. Our main concern came when she was removed from a presentation after missing two practices. There was no prior communication or attempt to understand the circumstances — she was simply dropped, which was disappointing. We were told not to worry and that the presentation fees would be refunded. However, after we transitioned to another studio last December, our follow-up emails went unanswered and we never received the refund, despite being told by the owner it would be resolved. It has been 3 months. On a positive note, our daughter is now at a new studio with a kind teacher, a supportive environment, and she’s learning a lot more while having fun — which is ultimately what we were hoping for.

I am so impressed with this studio. We have tried others in the area and the set up, parent viewing and seating, studio sizes, faculty professionalism and warmth have exceeded others. My girls cannot wait to go to dance. Megan is so thorough and helpful and answers all of my questions via email so quickly and in person too. I absolutely love that the slogan is for little girls to dance like little girls and be kids. We are so thankful to be a part of the dance movement.
