It's a public place, to many rules, I have to leave my uncle outside in the heat to watch my items because I can't bring them in so he stays outside and watches them, can't sleep in here the heat makes people tired, not enough space for the adult area, very minimal outlets to charge anything, very little space in the bathroom the urinal is right across the stall in the mens bathroom, the place has ants, the security guard is nice and polite and does his job unlike the other workers quick to tell someone what not to do but not telling them where to go to actually do it right

Love this library and now have my very own library card. The staff so willing to help. Refreshing in a guarded world.

This is a very nice Houston Public Library serving the East End neighborhoods. Its clean and well organized. For it's size, the computer section is large. They have almost two dozen terminals that library patrons can use. The selection of fiction and non-fiction on hand is small. You can use the HPL catalog computer to reserve any book in the HPL system for pickup here. Most bestsellers are in a floating collection (not assigned to a particular branch library).

The facility is great, updated and nice. The book selection is decent too. However, the kids area is lacking. There is one bin of puzzles that are missing most of their pieces, and no other toys. That being said, I liked that the kids area was in the corner where I felt we wouldn't bother anyone. I also liked all the little cushioned seats they had there. And my kids still had a good time. So overall good experience, but we probably won't go back.
