About this class

Smashed Clay + Studios offers some fantastic pottery classes for your little one. They have handbuilding sessions perfect for kiddos under 8, where they can get creative without needing much hand strength. For those 8 and up, the throwing classes let them try their hand at the pottery wheel, with younger kids welcome to join in with a parent by their side. It's a great way to bond and let your child's imagination run wild. I know finding time for activities can be tough, but this could be a fun way to spend quality time together.

Parents rave about the supportive vibe from instructors like Bianca, who really know how to encourage creativity—your little one might just surprise you with what they create! Just a heads up, you might want to keep an eye on glazing details to avoid any hiccups with your finished pieces.

Great experience But I wish they had more have more color options for glazing I had to ask for a refill for the main color I’ve used..The first instructor who mixed the first batch of color left in the mid of session Even the second instructor gave me limited colors for the glaze.. Yes, the experience worths your money but it could be better Hope y’all enjoy your time there✌️

Very overpriced. We had a terrible experience. We have done Pinot’s Palette a number of times and wanted to switch it up and try something new for a date night. I chose something using a pottery wheel because I have never used one before. When we arrived it was very loud, very crowded. The girl at the check in desk seemed to have no idea what was happening. We arrived a few minutes late yet when we sat down, the instructor told us we were still waiting for others. No offers of where to put your bag or where the bathroom is- basic stuff you need to know the first time you visit someplace like that. The cheap ikea stools are super uncomfortable. The instructor was hard to hear, hard to understand, and barely helped us at all. Wouldn’t bring us extra tools, kept giving the same useless instructions. I could have learned more from a 5 minute YouTube video and spent the money on the supplies to do it at home. To top it all off, he advertised at the end that it costs an additional $25 for them to glaze it, or $15 for you to come back and glaze it yourself. lol. Will not be back.

My husband and I came in for a date night for the couples challenge. It was very fun. Our instructor was trying to help 5 different couples. She explained everything very well and was super helpful. She had an assistant but the poor girl was new and wasn't able to assist much.

The experience itself was fun, but I am dissatisfied with my finished piece. I made a tray, and paid extra for the studio to glaze it. Whoever did it put glaze on the bottom, which shouldn’t have happened to begin with, and likely only used one support when placing it in the kiln, leading it to be all kinds of messed up. It doesn’t lay flat anymore (it did when I finished it and left it there). Especially after paying extra for them to glaze it, I’m disappointed. Now my piece is useless.

I had such a great time at this clay pottery class! Bianca was an amazing teacher, super helpful, encouraging, and full of positive energy. I came in with an idea for a statue that felt a little out there, but she never made me feel silly or unsure. Instead, she helped me bring it to life, and I ended up with something I’m genuinely proud of. Whether you’re a total beginner or just looking for a fun, creative evening, I highly recommend this class. It’s the perfect mix of chill, hands-on, and inspiring.
