Schottland Family YMCA | Monroe County, NY

The Schottland Family YMCA is truly outstanding. The facility is huge, spotless, and filled with brand-new equipment that runs perfectly. Their class schedule is robust and offers something for everyone, and the instructors are absolutely top-notch. One of the biggest perks is the children’s watch program. The options for kids are incredible, and it makes it so much easier to get a workout in knowing they’re in good hands. The YMCA is a tremendous asset to our community, and I’m genuinely grateful to have it nearby.

Such a beautiful YMCA! I feel so grateful to be within driving distance of a facility as nice as this for my workouts! I’ve seen a few negative reviews about how packed it gets-and yes, it does get very busy. You will find people of all ages and all experience levels here, enjoying exercise, spending time with family, and taking classes (personally, I love this, because people with less experience will feel welcomed, but people with more experience won’t feel out of place either). I primarily use the free-weights, benches, squat racks, and machines for my workouts, and I can honestly say I have never had to wait longer than five minutes for a bench or rack even if I go at the busiest time of day. Usually if I go around 6 PM on a weekday, or at any time during a weekend, I don’t have to wait at all. There are so many racks available that it just isn’t really a problem. The equipment is also new and very nice! The pool area gets very busy, but it’s huge, for one thing, and I’ve also happened to see it with very few people in it at certain times. I highly recommend this YMCA. If you’re thinking about joining but are unsure if it’s too busy for your comfort level, I suggest asking the staff when their less busy times are, and see if that works with your schedule. :)

Very nice branch. Well staffed and the facility is well maintained and pleasant to visit. Plenty of equipment so people rarely have to wait to use anything. And equipment is kept in good repair.

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my time at the YMCA. It’s an amazing place with a well-equipped gym, excellent facilities, and a welcoming environment. The staff are friendly and always ready to help, making it a comfortable and supportive space for everyone. Whether it’s the variety of fitness classes or the modern workout equipment, everything is designed to promote a healthy and positive experience. Overall, it’s been a fantastic place to stay active and enjoy some downtime as well!

Really nice YMCA. Plenty of cardio machines, even during busy times. EGYM machines offer full body workout on various machines with little or no wait to use. The free weight area tends to be crowded in the evening. There's a three lane indoor walking track too.
