I've just returned from the Woodside public library after getting a library card and taking out a book on Seoul, Korea. I hadn't been in an nyc public library in many years. Personally, I prefer to read a real book than read one online or listen to one online. I thought there's no need to purchase every book you want to read. Go to the library. I am writing to say that I had the most pleasant experience obtaining my library card and taking out a book. I was greeted and assisted by the most lovely person you could ever hope to come across. Big shout out to Shelly!!! Thanks for being you. The NYC PUBLIC LIBRARY is lucky to have a superstar like you on their team. Tim

Haven't had good experiences with some of the librarians here lately. One librarian (Asian woman) was very rude when I had to ask her for help when signing up for a computer. I hadn't been here in months so I didn't know that the Teens computers had limited seats. I was put in the waiting list because the 2 PCs that were working were already occupied. It literally took her seconds to remove me from the waiting list but she gave me an attitude and said I should have signed up for the Adults computers instead. I thought it's okay to sign up for either as long as it's not after school hours? After that experience, I try to avoid asking for help. This time, the printer wasn't working. Even though there is a sign that says to ask a librarian, I've been able to clear paper jams before. I was close to fixing it when a librarian (black woman with glasses) came over and finished fixing it but she sounded condescending and unfriendly. At the end, she did say that she didn't mean to upset me but if that were true she wouldn't be talking to me like that in the first place. However, I do appreciate one librarian who helped me sometime in between these encounters. He noticed that I was struggling with a PC (it had technical issues that I couldn't resolve) and he proactively came over and helped me in a nice, positive way. He's the reason why I'm not giving a lower rating.

I like this library in Woodside! Quiet and librarians are friendly, they make it neat and you can get your work done here. They also have tech classes and crafts and this summer they also have a fitness class, movie time and they give free lunches to those under 18.

I absolutely love this library in our community. It is a small but cozy and everyone in the library are kind and helpful. Every time I visit the library, I feel so grateful that I get to enjoy this gem full of kindness, wisdom, and serenity. I was lucky to receive some lovely book marks yesterday from Shelly! Please visit and share the love to our beloved library in Woodside! Thank you Woodside Library family. :)

Today I came to do use the computer because my printer did not work. Shelly kindly explained about how to use the library computers and the printer. It was so easy and convenient to use. You just need your library card with you. Thank you again for being our neighborhood library. So happy and grateful! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘
