Queens Public Library at Baisley Park | Queens, NY

This library has been closed for renovations more than it has been open for years. Now it has been closed since like October 2025 and will not open until late 2028! I am hoping and praying these new renovations will make a real difference in not only the library's overall appearance, but also mean it will get more money and staffing and even more room for special programs and better support from the city. Our neighborhood needs and deserves to have a better functioning space. The staff that worked there was awesome, I hope they return and bring more wonderful workers with them. I read this long round of renovations will be greatly increasing the size of the library (hopefully even a second floor. Also, the article said the entrance of the newly renovated facility will be moved from Sutphin Blvd. to Foch Blvd. I hope they put in a larger HVAC system during these renovations and not open for a few months in 2028 and reclose to do that, or more work, that should be done during these years that it is closed.

Baisley Park is closed for renovations. Mobile Library service is available outside Baisley Park Library on Mondays from 10am to 5pm. They expect to reopen the library in Fall 2028. Why is it not public record that this library has shut down and will not open until fall of 2028. Why does the library need that much time for renovations? RIDICULOUS! This is my local library that I like to walk to with my daughter even though I drive. I’m big mad cause I really liked this library & it’s in our present neighborhood

I used to come to this library when I was younger and this is my first time as an adult that I have come back to it. I wanted to continue supporting it, but I discovered that there's barely any charger ports for laptops! Only one small area has places to connect your laptop to and that's really unfortunate because I think more people would come to this location if they had that amenity. Other than that, it is a nice location to go to read at. Still some noise like people have mentioned in previous reviews. Just thought that this library would have been improved after they shut it down during covid. The city needs to do better.

This is the closest library to my home. It's small but quaint and always clean. My biggest issue is the noise level. I understand that there are not rooms separating the different sections in the library and that's fine because, as previously mentioned, it's a small establishment. However, the employees are usually the loudest one in the library. They're always having conversations, usually right next to each other, and you could hear them on the opposite end. They make no attempts to use their inside voice; always very loud and some of them are very rude and need in service for customer relations because they are not fit for their position. Another issue is that they only have about six computers but many times persons have to be put on a wait list because this one employee is occupying the computer (usually playing candy crush or something of the sort). In my humble opinion, the entire staff should be replaced, from the bottom on up.
