About this class

If you're looking for a "Mommy and Me" style swimming class, Pods Swimming in Providence, RI, offers a program called Cuttlefish I for infants and toddlers aged 6 to 15 months. In this class, parents accompany their little ones in the water, helping them become comfortable and relaxed. The goal is to establish underwater comfort, introduce assisted back floats, and begin the transition from front to back floats. It's a wonderful way to bond with your child while introducing them to the joys of swimming. Parenting can be tough, but finding activities like this can make it a bit easier.

Families appreciate how welcoming and attentive the instructors are, making every child feel special and supported during their lessons. Don't be surprised if your little one begs to jump back in the pool for just one more turn!

We’ve had a great experience at Pods Swimming! Both of our kids have become confident, capable swimmers thanks to the fun and supportive teaching style. The instructors do an awesome job of keeping it fun while helping the kids build real world swimming and safety skills. One of our favorite moments was when someone at another pool said, “They must be Pods kids!”. We feel safe and proud when our kids are around or in the water, and we’re glad to be part of the Pods family!

We were referred to this swim school by some friends who were new as well at the time. (They ended up leaving shortly after due to same complaints I had.) The woman at the desk was always extremely rude and arrogant. The person teaching the classes just allowed the children to do what they wanted instead of them listening to what they were teaching. My child who loved to swim needed confidence building and this place did not do that. They went from being able to swim to not being able to swim, scared of the pool and not ever wanting to come back. We pulled them and went to Goldfish. Best decision I have ever made. They are now strong swimmers and love the water.

Hi. Wanted to share review of PODs. Today was our first swim class here and what a difference compared to the Ymca in Seekonk. PODS was really great experience. Very structured and organized. The instructors that were there were very kind and focused on your child and patient. They did so much in 30mins vs what we experienced elsewhere last year. The water is 90 degrees which is a huge plus for my little girl. She cried half the class at the Y because the water was so cold. My daughter cried at the end of the class because she didn't want to leave. She wanted to jump in 1 more time or go to other end of pool. Unfortunately the class was over so we had to tell her next class. I did have a mom panic moment as I wasn't required to be in the water at this location... I see my daughter's head go under the water for like a quick half a second while on the platform that floats that they all stand on. I reacted and banged on window and spooked the instructor. I didn't mean to do that. It was a worried reaction. She literally popped her head back up immediately but i had knocked on window so fast. We can't do what I did. The instructor immediately looked at the kids. She assured me not to worry they are all on top of everything. I then asked my little one why did you put ur head under the water she said she wanted to look at her feet to make sure they were placed in the right spot. Im assuming it was what was told to her. Good kid for following directions and almost giving me a heart attack. Anywho, I really loved it here and I look forward to coming here long term with her and my baby boy when he hits the age where he can go here. I know it's day 1 but felt like I needed to write this review. Will add another review after we have been going for longer. Also the parents in my daughter's class were saying how they have been going here for a few yrs and how much they love it and are very happy there compared to other swim schools. I didn't hear anyone complain. The areas are also very clean and organized. Lots of smiles from the ppl who work there. Always a plus. Ty for reading my long review. 💓 ********2nd Review (few months being at PODS)***************** My Review still stands at 5 STARS! We really love it here and my little girl loves Miss Jenna! She is kind, patient, and always has a smile. My little one had a little moment where she said she get nervous and panicked and forgot how to kick her feet under the water. She didn't want to go back in but with encouragement she went back in and Miss Jenna was so great with her. She really gives the time needed for each individual child and is super attentive. I have no complaints. Only that my little doesn't want to leave the shower after getting out of the pool and I lie and say they are going to run out of water we need to hurry up. I think one of the instructors knew my daughter tends to do this to me and he helped me out saying oh no we gotta hurry up lol so that was nice becasue Mama needs to go. Lol. Anywho this place is great. I'm shocked to see any negative reviews as I never had experienced anything. I plan to stay doing the July and Aug classes and we don't plan on ever leaving. I can see how much my little has learned in the short time there and I'm happy with the progress so far. I wish the classes. Thank You for reading this.

Enrolled our 9-month old baby in swimming classes here on the advice of a friend, and couldn't be more pleased. The instructors are kind (welcoming every child by name), and highly competent. I feel very safe having them teach my baby to swim, and frankly, they also do a terrific job about teaching me how to continue the learning process for my baby at home. (My baby no longer freaks out when his face gets wet in the tub when we wash his hair, etc.) Could not recommend Pods Swimming more highly.

Excellent swim lessons for children of all ages. My oldest daughter started when she was just over a year old. Now, at 3.5, she can jump in the pool and swim back to the pool edge solo. Shes also swimming to the bottom of the pool, floating on her back and learning breath control with kicking. We now have two kids in swim. Miss Jenna and Miss Marguerite are the best! Don't let the price deter you. You get what you pay for!
