I first took a beginner yoga series with Nicole many years ago, this was my second retreat with her. This jungle retreat (2026) was incredibly special - the location, the amazing group of humans and our teacher! From the very first practice, it was clear it was not about rushing through the poses or achieving the perfect "shape". The classes were deeply intentional and rooted in the breath. Each session was an invitation to turn inward while expanding awareness outward to the sounds of the jungle, the rhythm of nature and our relationship with the world around us. Nicole holds space with such steadiness and authenticity, gently guiding us to explore, not just the movement, but the connection with breath, to ourselves and to something greater.

The yoga with Nicole exceeded our expectations. As 70 something we were a little concerned that we would be able to hold our own in two yoga sessions a day. But Nicole‘s approach is so reassuring and begins where each person is. Lovely. Lovely. I came home after a week completely blissed out.

Fantastic yoga retreat at the Luna Lodge in Feb 2026. I took a chance on Nicole - I knew and loved Luna but had never taken a class from Nicole. She was terrific. I’ve been doing yoga for more than 15 years and I can honestly say this was some of the best yoga I’ve ever done. It’s not about the poses!! She also did a great job of balancing the needs for a variety of students - a wide range of ages and physical limitations. Highly recommend!!

Pacific Yoga and Nicole is truly a hidden gem. I started working with Nicole over two years ago during her prenatal classes, and from the very beginning it was clear that what she offers goes far beyond movement. She has cultivated such a vibrant, supportive community of mothers and women, and walking into her space feels grounding and welcoming every single time. Over time, I transitioned into her all-levels class, and I can honestly say it has changed my life. Nicole is a true healer. She completely redefined my relationship with yoga and, more importantly, how I approach my life off the mat. I primarily started practicing to manage stress, but what I’ve gained is so much deeper. I’ve learned how to be kinder to myself, how to meet myself exactly where I am, and how to carry those lessons into my day-to-day life. The practice doesn’t end when class does. Her classes are intimate, which allows for so much personal attention. Before every class, Nicole thoughtfully checks in about injuries or areas that need extra care and seamlessly incorporates that awareness into the flow. She does this with such ease and intelligence. She’s truly brilliant as an instructor. Recently, my husband and I attended her yoga retreat in Costa Rica, and it was absolutely life-changing. The setting was breathtaking, the yoga was transformative, and the adventures we shared made the experience unforgettable. I had meaningful breakthroughs during that week and came home feeling fundamentally shifted, with tools and insights I continue to use in my life. I often tell people that I’ve done yoga for years, but my real practice didn’t begin until I took the leap and signed up for my first class with Nicole. If you’re even considering it, do it. It may just change your life too.

A week before going on Nicole's Costa Rica Yoga retreat I still didn't even know where we were actually going (and truly, I would not consider myself a type b person). I knew it was the jungle of Costa Rica because of course she had told me before... and probably again in our group video calls before the trip... but I really had done zero research into the trip. I just said sign me up. That's how much I trust Nicole as a teacher and as a person after practicing with her and getting to know her for over 5 years. She has a way of making everyone in her class feel comfortable and comforted. No matter how long or little you have practiced, despite any limitations you may personally think you have, Nicole will see beyond all of it. She will have you on your mat and sinking in wherever you are physically and mentally. She will teach you something each and every class. She is constantly giving students their own personal cues on alignment while encouraging support and comfort in all poses and transitions. A teacher who can read the room and teach to every individual is truly hard to come by, but Nicole is that teacher every time. Her retreat was simply that - a treat. You will no doubt bring back something special that you'll hold in your heart forever after a week with Nicole, especially at the magical Luna Lodge, in Costa Rica. Luna Lodge is one of the most peaceful places I've ever been to, it is so intentionally thought out and planned, from the lodgings, offerings, activities, meals etc thanks to it's committed and loving owner, Lana. I'll dream about Luna Lodge and my yoga retreat there with Nicole until I return again to connect with nature, slow down, and wake with the sun and sounds of the jungle. A little more to my back story of yoga with Nicole, which is separate from my experience at her retreat: I found Nicole while searching for yoga studios in Fishtown even though I had extreme hesitancy about practicing yoga again after an injury to my back. I had done yoga for a few years until I found myself with chronic back pain after the back injury involving bulging and torn discs. I was struggling to cope with my pain and the injury even after doing PT for over 6 months. I was told by doctors that my goal shouldn't be to be pain free, but to learn to cope with the pain. At that point, I had daily pain that I was living with and it was ruining my quality of life. When I found Nicole's page, I noticed she had experience with yoga and chronic pain, so despite my hesitation to do yoga again, I contacted her and started doing private sessions to gain back my confidence on my mat. I was so scared to hurt myself more or make my pain worse, but the complete opposite happened. Nicole helped me find modifications to any and every pose or transition I was hesitant about. She taught me proper alignment and engagement of my body and helped me understand how my body was over or under compensating for so long to protect the hurt parts of my back and how to undo all that and trust myself again. Soon enough, was back on my mat in a class setting and gaining my confidence and happiness back. Most importantly of all, I was living with more and more PAIN FREE days, something I was told should never be my goal. 5+ years later I would say 99% of my days are now pain free days, all of which I wholeheartedly credit to Nicole. She is the most amazing teacher I've ever taken classes with and i love learning from her. If I wasn't clear enough already, Nicole ROCKS and you are missing out by not practicing with her!! As always Nicole, thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for me and all your students! pacific yoga forever (:
