About this class

The Northwest Branch Library offers a wonderful "Mommy and Me" program called Book Buddies, where your little one can enjoy one-on-one reading sessions with a friendly volunteer. It's a great way to foster a love for books and spend quality time together. Plus, it's free! I know finding time for these activities can be tough, but this one is definitely worth it.

Fair warning: don’t be surprised if your kiddos leave class buzzing with excitement, ready to share their latest art masterpiece or new best friend. With friendly staff and a fun vibe, it’s no wonder parents keep coming back for more!

Great local library. The staff is so friendly. They have a great section inside where kids can play, draw, and take part in activities. They also have activities outside. My 4 & 5 year old had a blast and we will be back.

Staff friendly. Some offer assistance while others offer verbal technical cues to assess books or research items. Clean library, and computers are all operational. More aisle indexes in the adult bookshelves are needed especially on the back end bookshelves.

Great computers. But lately I have been noticing that staff doesn't do anything about loud kids, and adults. Hard to do any work on computers with babies screaming. Adults speaking loudly on phone .. a lot of crazy people go through there.

I wish the library would implement a policy promoting respect and quietness among peers in the adult computer lab. Yesterday, I overheard a man telling someone, "I hate you so much, I hope you die from cancer." Additionally, I heard a woman on her phone stating that she needed to report two assaults. Later, she answered a call from her significant other and put him on speaker phone. Conversations of this nature should be conducted privately, as they were highly disruptive; many individuals turned around to stare at her, yet she seemed oblivious to the social cue to take the call outside. Today, the same two men returned to the computer area, speaking consistently loudly and repeatedly saying, "I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die."

...Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't libraries supposed to be quiet??? I expect some noise from children, but the adults are just as loud if not more noisy. No one wants to hear the phone calls, or the annoying play-by-play of teenage boys playing MMOs. Would appreciate it if there was more done to maintain the quiet atmosphere. Shouldn't be hearing everyone with my earbuds on full blast.
