Melrose Library | The Bronx, NY

This is an excellent neighborhood library. I went shortly after its reopening and haven't stopped visiting. Great selection of books and really friendly and pleasant staff. Keep up the good work!

I love my libraries and I’m willing to take this down if contacted but as some one from the community, I know programming is a hit or miss but I found the demeanor and attention to interest and concern to my inquires for the open hours of job programming not handled well or at all. I went to the adequate floor for adults, asked one lady and she confirmed it was in this floor. The second person seemed confused and pressing them made no sense so I just left to my next task. They helped me by telling me where the sign in sheet was 20 minutes earlier but idk it’s just the lax vibe of it all. Unfortunately 10 minutes after the start of that slot there’s no effort to find me on the floor or contact me. There will be other resources yes, but this can be very discouraging for young teens or folks trying to use public resources at all. Security guy was nice though.

The library is clean and the staff is friendly. They have plenty of computers if you don't have one and plenty of desk space if you have your own laptop.

Was my favorite library (and like my second home) I would always go there and check out so many books!! The librarians there were also super nice and kind to me and always encouraged me to read more. I’m sad that it’s gone now. I miss everyone that used to be there. But all good things come to an end…
