My son and I, visit the Lewiston Public Library once a week. They have a great staff and they have a whole floor for the children. They do have different individual room for meetings or studies. They also have free internet. They also have free books or with very low cost. Their website is very easy to navigate, and you can renew your books by using your contact information. You can return your book any time, by using the outside window.

Resources and available content is wide-reaching, diversified, however the staff here (for the most part- I can think of only three who aren’t negative or absolutely horrible to interact with) take on the position of assuming you’re a one-hundred-ten-percent scumbag for asking any questions of them or even having the nerve to check out items while they’re in the middle of one of their (intentionally loud, so patrons CAN hear- they make this a POINT) negative conversations regarding their librarian duties or a patron who they don’t prefer to interact with for whatever reason. I frequent this library as well as the Auburn one, and the one across the river is staffed by a much more pleasant group of people who, at the very least, know how to fully zip up their “human disguise” before they leave their cavernous den of hibernation for the day, unlike the staff at this Lewiston one, who proudly display the barbs down their spiny back, and who let the venom drip off of their forked tongues.

They open whenever they want in the middle of winter when the homeless people are kicked out of the shelter at 7am everyday and rely on their services to help find housing. Some days not even open until 12, when people DEPEND on them as a resource, again the people leaving these reviews must not be homeless or ever needed help. Just like the rest of the cities municipalities, they do what and open when they want

I've been coming to this library for many years. Many years back it was very inviting and friendly. Sadly, lately this is not the case. It seems ok for the staff to talk as loud as they want to each other (staff), or patrons. But I received a phone call, with my phone on vibrate. As soon as I answered the call to tell the caller I'd call right back, a staff was right beside me telling me I can't use my phone in this area. Yet other patrons can watch movies, facetime, or make phone calls in the non designated area, and even though staff is right there, nothing is done. Overall it's a noisy library with kids running around, loder than usual staff, and or when maintenance might be fixing something. Auburn Public Library is By Far so much quieter, friendly, and seems to care about All of their patrons. In my opinion, Lewiston Public Library should take a few pointers from Auburn. I really used to enjoy coming to Lewiston Library with my kids who are grown adults now. It just makes me sad, and dissapointed to see the changes since then.
