Both of my very active sons love coming to Hugs and Bugs. They have both attended from 18 months on and love the sensory, messy, outdoor play. They develop their fine motor skills, communicate more, and listen better after these classes! Both of them ask to go all the time and I am sure we will be attending for years to come.

Hugs & Bugs has been like an extension of our family! My daughter starting going to Mommy & Me Classes and it was her favorite day of the week! Literally asking every day if it was "Hugs & Bugs Day." Fast forward to when I was in need of emergency childcare, and the owner worked with me to accommodate my daughter into summer camp sessions. It's been 4x months and we still talk about the things we did at Hugs & Bugs summer camp! And now Snow Days and Date Nights, these are her favorite days!!! The owner and all teachers are AMAZING and my daughter LOVES them all so much. Not to mention, I learned so much at the Mommy & Me Classes and took home some of the ideas that are still a fan favorite with my daughter! Truly, words can not describe how lucky I feel to have found Hugs & Bugs!!!

I was asked to leave a review after my daughter camped at Hugs & Bugs on Valentine’s Day so here I am. First of all, I couldn’t find any info about the director or staff on their website. Since one of my friends referred this place and I generally love this kind of approach to teaching and was looking for something like Scandi school in JC but in Hoboken, I decided to try it. At the drop off, I mentioned that it was our first time and was expecting the teachers to at least introduce themselves, but they did not. They just gave me the list of students to confirm our names and contacts. I also wasn’t allowed to come inside with my daughter. It didn’t feel like a “smooth transition” at all. During the day I received 0 pictures. When I asked about that at the pickup – one of the teachers said that I can find my daughter’s photos from today on their Instagram, which was a big surprise to be honest. I actually don’t remember giving a consent for posting my child’s photos and moreover, why is it not shared privately via email or app but on social media? And what if I don’t use Instagram? I really hoped to like this place because we’re looking for a summer camp right now and Emilia Reggio approach is the best, but I’m not sure after all this.

Both my kids aged 2 and 4 went to Hugs & Bugs this summer for camp. To say the teachers were great would be an understatement. My kids were in different age groups and loved both their teachers equally. They also thought of creative and engaging activities daily. The owner Olivia is incredible - when my daughter had a hard time separating she would make sure to update me on how she was doing and send pictures. Really a wonderful wonderful place to send your kids.

Hugs and Bugs has been apart of our son’s education for 3 years and I can not recommend it enough! The teachers are incredibly patient, kind and nurturing and and truly love working with children. My son was so excited to attend school everyday and be involved in the activities. It was a true gift to have found Hugs and Bugs. The small class sizes, outdoor time and messy projects make this place a true gem. Olivia encourages the parents to be involved in the classes and creates such a nice community amongst the parents and students.
