Half Hollow Hills Community Library, with branches in Dix Hills and Melville, runs several free parent-and-child programs for young children. Fantastic Fingerplays covers birth to 5 years with fingerplays and singing for motor skills. Wee Tales from the Playroom, Let's Groove, and Sing and Stomp serve ages 2-5 with books, songs, dancing, and instruments like shakers, scarves, and drums. Tiny Dino Crafters offers craft stations for the same age group. All sessions require a parent or caregiver present. Most programs require registration, and some are limited to district residents.
