Family Place Libraries | Suffolk County, NY

Family Place Libraries is an early childhood initiative of Middle Country Public Library, serving as the national model for the Family Place Libraries network, with programs held at both the Centereach and Selden locations. Early childhood programs are for children birth through age 5 with a parent or caregiver. Ongoing offerings include Baby Meet & Play, the Play & Chat Parent-Child Workshop, and Time for Twos, along with storytimes such as Little Dino Tales (ages 2-3), Barnyard Buddies (ages 3-5), and Starry Rhyme Time (birth-3), which include sing-alongs, nursery rhymes, and movement. A caregiver must remain present in play spaces. The library also offers 1000 Books Before Kindergarten.
