Fairfield Public Library runs early literacy classes for children from birth to age 5, at both the Main Library and the Fairfield Woods Branch. Programs are grouped by age—pre-walkers, walkers, toddlers, and preschoolers—with named sessions such as Tiny Tots, Baby Rhyme Time, Wobbly Walkers, and Terrific Twos. Children take part in storytelling, rhymes, and other interactive activities. More than a dozen classes run weekly year-round; some are drop-in, with tickets given out 30 minutes before start due to limited space, while others require advance registration.
