Reviews
Nice neighborhood library across the street from Northside (formerly Jefferson Davis) High School. For it's size, they have a large computer section - 12 terminals for adults and 8 terminals in the kids section. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I recommend they set up a separate section for new books the library has acquired in the last year. This works quite well at the Heights Neighborhood Library. Library patrons can see new titles without having to browse the stacks. Be sure to check the library hours before visiting. They are closed on Sunday. On the other six days of the week, there are four different opening & closing times. It's confusing. 😳

The women's restroom area was a -0. I could not believe my 👀 when I walk3 inside the restroom area. The restrooms looked as if nobody hasn't cleaned the toilets and floors since 1991. Disgusting and unimaginable for this library not to have a cleaning crew to up keep the public restrooms as decent as possible. The staff will say hello as you enter the building.😱😱😱😱

Avoid this library, the staff member Jesus will make up an excuse to kick you out. Go to a library where the staff are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Jesus doesn't seem to want certain patrons in the library and is looking for any excuse to kick them out. Jesus kicked me out of the library accusing me of sleeping. I was sitting up and had my head up and merely had my eyes closed for a moment. He was rude. I have seen him do this to other people before. He seems to be too eager to kick people out of the library as if he thinks it is his personal library. I believe the library exists for its patrons too and not just staff such as Jesus. Additionally wears his name badge backwards in order to prevent people from seeing his name.

Awesome library. It’s clean and staff are nice. I take my 18 month old here at least one a week for storytime and it’s a highlight of her week. Don’t let the 5-10 year old posts complaining about homeless people dissuade you from enjoying one of Houston’s very first public library branches
