Brooklyn Public Library - Highlawn Branch | Brooklyn, NY

I’m a regular visitor, it’s close to my home. I’ve seen people watch videos without wearing headphones, I’ve seen people talking loud, I’ve seen kids running around screaming, I’ve seen teenagers vaping and socializing as if its a fast food restaurant. But I have never seen any staff member bothered nor stopped those people from making noise! It’s a library, so its core function should be a quiet reading room, not a madhouse. Staff members should take back control and keep the noise down to an acceptable level!!!

The library is extremely noisy, making it very difficult to focus on studying. There is constant door slamming, loud restroom noises, and children running around and shouting. The overall environment is chaotic and not suitable for a place meant for quiet study.

Very noisy! Strangers keep coming and going not for reading, but for watching videos on line or chatting loudly! This place is not for quiet studies, definitely.

I’ve been coming here since middle school (7 years ago), and the staff here are always friendly and helpful with any questions. I had trouble with the printer before, and one of the staff helped me with the issue. Just don’t go here to study, it’s way too loud with all the kids.

Good place, offers a wide range of collection of books. Been coming here since I was 8 (I’m now 19) - don’t come here if you want to study, it’s always hectic and noisy. However, they do offer seating for adults & kids, but does that little to no difference.
