Fantastic Art Moderne central library beautifully restored inside and outside. I enjoyed the exhibition "Printing Black America: Du Bois Data Portraits in the 21st Century". Inspired by the original infographics designed by W.E.B. Du Bois (1868-1963), the artists William Villalongo and Shraddha Ramani have designed new infographics in his style. The exhibition includes both original Du Bois as well these new infographics.

The micro college Bard at the Brooklyn Public Library in the Dweck area was a reading from a book called “My Selma“ It was one of the most important things that I had done in Brooklyn for a while. Of course the book was written in Brooklyn at the BPL and when I could not get a seat in the library, I went to the botanicals the Brooklyn botanicals down the street and finished the book off. These are many things that are important for the many people who come in and out of the library every day. Clean bathrooms, hot, delicious coffee, and biscuits and pastry. And people everywhere, studying. Reading is fabulous. And then the children have their areas.. The librarians!! for God sake thank you the librarians who are just fantastic and I met a woman named Carla Stephen one of the most intelligent women that I have met in many years and I meet a lot of intelligent women and the other thing is that all the women who were in the auditorium was bright even their hair was bright. One woman had green streaks of hair and one head, black and purple braids and another one was wearing a beautiful black and white sweater and shortcut hair and Carla Stepen and her colleagues and administrators all these wonderful men and women were there, including the students they all are the ones who chose to have this micro college and reading from the author of her book. It was wonderful. And oh it’s so much to tell you ..get in touch with them and find out if they are doing anything else because they are teaching when you are listening to historical stories there was a 94 year old woman that looked like she was nowhere near there and she said that she went back to what the civil rights was to her while the author read what she had witness. Wow it was beautiful. Yes thanks to Ava and her mom for finding Carla’s room and getting all these wonderful trusts told. Thank you, Google. Let’s do it again for all our children.

What a fantastic library. It’s gorgeous to say the least and busy. It was so busy that there was no soap in any of the soap dispensers in the women’s restroom. I had to wash my hands in the all gender restroom. I was at the library on a Sunday and there’s so much to see and check out in and outside of the library. After checking out a book or two, scroll next door to Prospect Park or Prospect Zoo. I like this area, I’m digging the vibe. The food truck vendors were amazing. The Halal chicken and rice was my favorite at $12.99. The fresh pressed juice was $13. I better press my juice at home moving forward. But I will be looking for the food trucks again and again. They’ve got something for everyone. Just make sure you inquire about the price first if it’s not listed.

Brooklyn Public Library at Central Place is such an incredible spot full of history and knowledge. The library itself is beautiful and welcoming with a quiet atmosphere perfect for diving into a book. It is so close to Prospect Park, which makes it easy to grab a book and then head out to the park to read and enjoy the outdoors. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there are so many resources for everyone from students to lifelong learners. I plan to come back often because it is the perfect place to explore new ideas, relax, and soak in both the library’s energy and the nearby park.

Beautiful library offering an incredible amount of free resources beginning with small business aid, to language classes, to tax help, to free access to computers, to after school tutoring, to record listening stations, job and resume aid. I'm sure I'm missing addtional resources that are offered. The current exhibition was incredible, titled Mother Tounge it was a collection of artists sharing their culture. The library is well spaced and has so many books it's a bit overwhelming in the best way. I hope this space continues to be funded and people utilize it.
