My favorite BPL branch used to be the Grand Army Plaza branch but this new branch has quickly become my favorite. First off itβs a nice walking distance from my house. 2nd, itβs quiet and the bathrooms are clean. 3rd, they have a pretty good selection. 4th, the staff is super friendly and helpful. They offer lots of services and are valuable sources in learning about community resources. Finally, when I go with the children in my family, we then head over to the either the park or the Brooklyn Childrenβs Museum afterwards. So many wonderful neighborhood resources all located on the same block.

Visited new location of Brower Park Library @ Brooklyn Children's Museum. Compact and technology outlets in adult section. Cabinet with laptops on loan available The neatest thing was being able to capture a view of the Children's museum through a window. Reading nook, cultural displays. Stroller and bicycle ports Handicapped accessible Meeting room The smell.of new books. PRICELESS π©βπ»βπΏπ»ππ¨ππππππ Many great Aging and Adikts classes: painting, jewelry making and hat making. I had a very disappointing experience here with my 1.5-year-old daughter. She loves books and naturally gravitated toward the reading area, but one staff member seemed visibly annoyed when she picked up books to look through them. I didnβt realize this wasnβt encouraged. Isn't that the point of having books available? On top of that, I witnessed multiple children going into the bathroom barefoot, leaving the door wide open while using it, and then being wiped by caretakers afterward all with no privacy. I saw no handwashing, which raised real concerns about hygiene and supervision. Overall, it felt like a place that isn't designed with young children's needs or parents' peace of mind in mind. Very disappointing and gross.

Very rude employee, I went with my toddler and my 10 and 12 year old nieces. We were in the kids play section. My 10 year old niece was playing with my toddler and a very rude employee yelled at my 10 year old niece. I was stunned. My niece wasn't doing anything that deserved her rudeness. Even if she was, can she talk nicely? If I could no stars I would. If you are going to be working around kids, model some manners.

I absolutely love this branch, especially because of the staff. Not only are they always super helpful for my library needs (finding me a bag when I have too many books!), but they remember me and are a resource for food, salons and everything else within the community. Honestly my favorite staff of any of the Brooklyn branches, which is saying something because I've hit up many of the branches over the years. This spot is a true community resource -- it's small but mighty! Excellent community outreach programs with designated meeting rooms, a pleasant work area, nice bathrooms and a great kids section. My only complaint? I wish they were open on Sundays as well.
