I love coming here the staff are always very attentive and friendly thank you to the librarian on the 4th and Mr. DARNELL HAWKS for assisting me with the copies. You are incredible. Thank you for all that you do. Greatly appreciated. Please give him a raise!!!

I really liked it. They had a nice outdoor balcony space. It was quite and not nosey. Different floors and sections: for different ages and reading material. The staff was helpful, nice, and approachable. I was able to be there quietly. The only thing I would say is that their wifi is not so nice, from the one time I tried. They have computers also. But everything about it looks nice and it was a pleasant experience overall.

children’s floor is amazing, however adults without children aren’t allowed. a computer is always available and the quite zone is quite. Books that aren’t at this location, within a short period arrive — you are then notified and able to check it out. They have wonderful monthly programs, from chess, esl and computer literacy to book clubs and not to mention the child activities available. in the morning the line outside, waiting to open grows as the time descends upon us. people from all over the twenty block radius come to study, read, hang with friends or space out in a safe place. I’d recommend to all nyc residents and tourist alike.

Your security staff is failing at its most basic duty. Every day, the library is occupied by people who openly disrupt the environment: eating loudly, drinking from cans and bottles, blasting videos without headphones, shouting on phones, and wasting time in ways that directly disturb others. Some are clearly intoxicated or unstable. Security watches this and does nothing. But when a quiet student takes out a coffee, your guards suddenly become brave. They surround him like a dangerous criminal. This is not enforcement. This is cowardice disguised as authority. Your staff avoids confronting individuals who might resist or create paperwork. Instead, they target calm, educated, and compliant people because it is easy. That is not professionalism. That is abuse of power. You are funded by taxpayers to maintain order and fairness. Instead, you have created a space where disorder is tolerated and discipline is selectively imposed on the very people the library is meant to serve. If rules exist, they must apply to everyone. If your security team cannot enforce them consistently, then they are not protecting the public. They are bullying it. This situation is not just frustrating. It is unacceptable.
