About this class
Parents mention how their little ones have transformed into confident swimmers over time, with one mom sharing that her daughter now swims across the pool without hesitation. It's heartwarming to see such growth, but don’t be surprised if you notice a few hiccups in scheduling along the way!

Took adults classes. To be honest just get the gym membership from LA fitness and learn by your selves, it’s much easier and cost efficient. First of all it’s way over priced I paid about $175 a month, for half an hour class each weekend. That’s about $45 per half an hour. Which is fine if it was structured properly. You can tell it’s geared towards children not adults. Most of the time I was told to go swim on my own while they worked with others, and by the way you have share one quarter length of a lane with five adults( Sometimes it would be 3 or 2) most of my time was spent waiting around. I had a gym membership so i went on my own and learned to swim on my own after like 5 classes. Watched some YouTube videos and which did a better job than their instructors. There instructors have no structure what so ever, every week some one new would come to me and be like “oh yeah let’s do backstroke, that’s where we left off” meanwhile I didn’t even learn how to float. I am dead serious. Most of the instructors are late teens to young 20s, they don’t care, one time on a slow day they had “who can swim faster” while we were left to swim on our own. On a positive note they were very nice and polite. I didn’t experience any problems or issues in that aspect. I had one instructor towards the end, he was genuinely interested in my progress, unlike the others. That’s the only reason this gets 2 starts instead of one. If you are an adult swimmer please go somewhere else, there are few places in the island that teach you to swim (college of Staten Island used to have a program). Or try to learn on your own. Pool at LA fitness is about 3ft deep so any adult should be fine. Maybe they changed their practices, my experience is from last year. Children classes might be different. Wouldn’t recommend any adult taking there program just go to YMCA or CSI if you don’t want to pay for a gym membership

I don’t understand where all the five star reviews are coming from. I was not satisfied with my experience here. My four-year-old daughter took swim classes for about five months. My biggest complaint is that - The instructors provide no structure, they do not monitor the child’s progress, and they provide no opportunity for the child to advance to the next level class. For five months of lessons, the only thing my daughter learned was to jump into the pool, dip her head under water and float. There were many instances in which I felt they held my child back from progressing. For example, when jumping in the pool, they would always hold my child’s hand even though comfortable jumping into the pool without handholding. when I asked when can she can progress to the next class or learn something new, they couldn’t give me a straightforward answer. The class is only 30 minutes and it was always cut short by 8-10 minutes for playtime at the end. There was also several minutes wasted on a child in the group that was combative and not wanting to get into the pool. The structures were also not consistent, every week there was someone new. They were very young and inexperienced. I also want to mention that the pool is cold. My child was always shivering as were the other children.

Amazing place to bring my children every week. They have been incredible from their patience while working with the children in the pool to how they work with you one on one with any concerns that you may have. My son's love going to swimming and the consistent care and support that is received. Keep up the great work. I really appreciate you all so much.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Truly Transformative Experience! Both of my children, Priscilla and Anthony, attend the British Swim School, and I truly cannot say enough good things about this program. Priscilla has been in swim lessons on and off since she was 2.5 years old, she’s now 7 and until we joined British Swim School this past January, she had made very little progress. When she started here, she still needed floaties and was terrified of the deep end. In just six months, she has blossomed into a confident, capable swimmer. I now watch her swim across the pool without hesitation, and she’s even comfortable in the deep end, something I never thought I’d see so soon. It’s the first time we’ve ever seen real improvement, and we’re incredibly proud of her. Anthony is following closely in her footsteps and gaining confidence with every class. The instructors are not only knowledgeable, but they are incredibly patient, encouraging, and know how to bring out the best in every child. We are beyond grateful for the progress both of our kids have made thanks to the British Swim School. This program has made a huge difference in our lives , I only wish we had joined sooner!

I don’t recommend this place. They cancelled a class without informing the parent in advance. I received a phone call at 9:59 when the class began at 10 while I was in the LA fitness building. They didn’t inform me when they changed the location from Forest to Richmond. By the ways, they changed the swimming instructor weekly. I hope they could keep the same swimming teacher for the same group.
