Beautiful Birth Choices | Monroe County, NY

My husband and I can’t say enough great things about BBC. We signed up for everything— birth classes, comfort measures, breastfeeding, yoga, etc., alllll the things (!)— and had Julia present during labor/delivery. BBC is a community. Their classes are packed (in a really good, intentionally-sized way, no in an overcrowded, classroom way), and their Rochester and surrounding network is huge (think: PT, chiro, OBGYN, yoga, provider, etc.). Everyone we met throughout classes was well-informed, patient (with my zillion questions), and obviously embedded within the hospital systems. Labor and delivery at Strong clearly know (and respect) BBC. Everyone at BBC is focused on YOUR agenda, not theirs (and helping you figure out what you want, if you haven’t sorted this part out and want to!). During my delivery, Julia was my (and my husband’s) support and advocate. She helped me clarify my goals and find my voice. My labor/delivery didn’t go as I’d planned, but because of BBC, my experience was positive. One of the many brilliant things about BBC is that the community aspect doesn’t “end” after delivery— it continues through their groups/classes geared towards learning how to adjust to life post-baby, life with a toddler, returning to work, etc. I love it here! My husband and I took a 5-week birth class with Julia Sittig, and we could not be more thankful that we chose BBC. We immediately felt SO empowered and were informed with both what the hospitals will tell you and what they might not. By no means was this a hospital-bashing class and never was there judgement passed on anyone's personal choice(s) for their own labor & delivery, but the information that Julia shared with us regarding ALL of the choices available to momma's-to-be and labor partners was enlightening and inspiring. I'm due November 8th and my husband and I are moving toward my due date with confidence instead of fear, as so many pregnant women I know are. We can't say enough about how much Julia's class helped us in a number of facets and would 110% recommend and ENCOURAGE expecting parents to take a BBC course!! Thank you, Julia!

We highly recommend Bert for her birth doula services! She has a calming spirit that made our first birth experience very special. She was knowledgeable, supportive and caring, as well as the best birthing teammate my husband and I could’ve had. Will absolutely recommend her to any of my birthing friends!

Choosing to use BBC for doula services was the best decision we made for our family. My package was affordable, especially with the option to split the payments. It included a wealth of knowledge from monthly zoom classes, a childbirth and lactation course. These services allowed my husband and I to feel more confident in this uncharted territory of childbirth. My doula, Mindy was essential to the success of my birth. She helped me plan and make informed decisions on what I wanted. The support during my labor was unmatched. Mindy made me feel strong, empowered and supported. I will forever be grateful for her and the BBC!

Our experience with the Childbirth class at BBC was so empowering! Julia and Christy’s immense knowledge was shared in such a compassionate way and gave us the trust and confidence we will need for the birth of our first baby. We highly recommend to first time parents who want to feel informed about the decision making process with their birth. Such a warm and beautiful space!
