Great service. Clean. Spacious. I love the magazine nook. Open space library. I appreciate the opened hours until 7pm.

I genuinely don't understand why this library has this high of a rating. Every single day there are kids from Truman who are skipping school flooding in as soon as the library opens. While I don't necessarily have a problem with them skipping school, its the fact that they are so obnoxiously loud like they are forgetting where they even are in the first place. Not only that, the staff do nothing about it! You have to complain to the staff before they even make an attempt to try to get them to be quiet. And the staff just tells them to be quiet once and they resume their obnoxious volume not even a few minutes later. A library should be a place where you can focus and finish work in silence but you can't get that done here. The food court in Bay Plaza mall is probably a lot more quiet than this place is. The high schoolers are in there all day from the beginning of the day to when the libraries close. Again, the staff are lovely but I wish they would be more strict on the volume of the high schoolers and stop letting this go on for so long.

They have been closed for the past week! It's not on Google so I had to waste time walk over there and find out it's closed?! I'm taking summer classes and really needed to use the library resources and when I was there- there was a heat wave going on and they had no air conditioning nor fans to circulate some cool air in 99 degree weather!! also the wifi wasn't working. What's going on here?! There's a sign suggesting city island or edenwald - one of the worst library's to go to - adults and kids in there yelling and stuff - it's not quiet and the bus to city island is 3 buses away from bartow mall!! Ridiculous ! Close this ish down if y'all not gonna do right by us!

The library is very nice, but they are too tolerant of inconsiderate people who talk on the phone loudly and of the kids making noise. I really get frustrated when this occurs. For that, I rather stay home. The library should be a place of quiet where people can concentrate on whatever they are doing.

Your standard NYPL branch with a great team of librarians! They are quick to help and greet you with a smile. Selection is good and includes Russian and Spanish foreign language sections, as well as a very sizable kids’ collection. Events are varied and have included cultural programming and classes. Tip: visit early in the day before school lets out. It can get a bit noisy in the late afternoon, but the staff does a good job of reminding folks to use their indoor voices. Still, it is a popular hangout spot for students..
