They provide a great service—it’s amazing to have a library specially for visually impaired people—and it’s very quiet. 🙏(-1 star only bc it’s small/limited and the atmosphere is like an office)

Library for the visually impaired, open to residents of NYC and all Long Island. Loans of materials and book players can be completed by mail. To join, file an application with the library. Very friendly and helpful staff.

This is a great community resource. It has a large upstairs room, many services for disabled and for children. The childrens library is always full of activity, There are scheduled groups for children and adults : stories, crochet, ukelele, ... The staff are friendly, helpful and patient. An oasis. They do not have a huge circulating or reference collection on the first floor. Not sure what is on the spacious 2nd floor. aside from having participated in the ukelele group up there..

This is a great library and it does a great service to the citizens of New York. The librarians are kind and generous with their time. They have public use computers and a nice clean restroom.

We are so incredibly lucky to have this unique library here in NYC . You can learn Braille here for free . Make an appt to use the 3D printer . You can even Have books delivered to your home if your disability meets the requirements . They have a lovely little outside terrace and there is even a baby changing table in the children’s area . Go here to see Braille books and many others . Lots of places to sit and park the stroller . All are welcome here & the staff will help you find what it is you are looking for . Libraries are such a wonderful place to learn and grow ! Go see this place .
