I enrolled my daughter, Lanie, in Baby Sign at 6 months old. Monta’s classes quickly became one of her favorite places (as well as mine). We completed all three sessions plus a bonus session because we loved it so much. Lanie was slow to start using signs but she understood them quickly. We kept up the at home work using signs and at around 13 months she had an explosion of signs. She has continued to rapidly add signs to her vocabulary (she is 16 months now). Not only are the signs she uses adorable (like mouse, bird, dog, thank you, etc.) but they are extremely helpful in eliminating frustration for both her and I. Signs like more, all done, please, and help have prevented so many meltdowns. Lanie has always had BIG feelings and this early method of communicating has helped her immensely. There are a lot less tears and whining when she has a sign she can use to express what she wants. This is all thanks to Monta and her classes. I strongly recommend these classes to anyone with a baby. It’s a great way to have fun with your baby and teach them an invaluable skill at the same time. As a bonus it’s also a great way to connect and make friends with parents and their babies that will last past the time your child completes all of the sessions.

I attended Monta’s class when our son was about 8 months to 10 months and sign has been a game changer for us. More specifically we learned basic signs, fun songs to sing and had a good time bonding in Monta’s classes. Monta does a great job at incorporating fun for the adults as well as the kids as we learn together. In the class we learned 2-3 new signs each week like airplane, play and thank you but out of class we also looked up and implemented many others as they became relevant to our daily conversations. Today we sign back and forth with 20-30 different signs that we have learned together. As a result of the class, I feel more connected to my baby since I can better understand what he wants, or is interested in (right now its motorcycles and water in any form) or simply needs. I believe that without the class, we would be significantly behind in understanding what our baby wants/needs, and we have been able to avoid many hours of heartache, frustration, tantrums (adult and baby) and have been delightfully surprised with connection, songs and fun imparted by these classes. I wish we could go back in time and re-take the classes over again because they were so helpful and fun. TLDR: I highly recommend this class to anyone with a baby in their life.

We have had a wonderful experience with Monta over the past several months. We took the whole series, and our baby has learned over 30 signs so far. Teaching a baby sign language takes patience and persistence, and Monta encouraged us and provided great feedback throughout the process. Knowing sign language has enabled us to have meaningful conversations with our baby, experience his world with him, and navigate tantrums. We highly recommend this class!

Baby sign language class is so much fun for adults and babies alike! Ms. Monta is an amazing teacher and has helpful strategies for parents to help their babies communicate faster. My baby is always so happy during class and the added bonus is she takes a great nap after. I highly recommend this class for anyone looking to enjoy a fun bonding experience with their baby while also learning useful strategies to support their baby’s communication skills!

This class has been so beneficial for my daughter and me. I enrolled in level 1 right before my daughter’s 1st birthday. The first level might be more for the parents to learn but shortly after the class ended my daughter started signing quite a bit all within one week. She started signing words such as more, thank you, friend, please, bear, food, and much more. She also does signs as we play and sing songs. As we progressed to level 2, it has been much easier for my daughter to mimic signs that I show her and she is also able to use signs (simple of course) to communicate things that she wants. I highly recommend these courses. Not only will your kid(s) learn but they’ll also have fun playing and socializing with other babies / toddlers in the class.
